Hey all,
Me again!!! Just recently (happend a few times in the past week, never happend before) my power steering has "GROAN" ed a few times, sounds like a metallic scraping sound....Very metallic....It happens when i am at stop, or moving very slow, and i turn the wheel from near lock to near lock, like when trying to get out of a shopping centre car park space... and when i give it a little throttle to take off, thats usually when it happens.....it is a VERY definate metallic-like groan, which i am worried is either the pump, or the rack, GOD i hope not!! The other thing i've noticed lately is that when cold and you let the steering go back "under its own weight", i.e. let go of the steering wheel after turning round a roundabout, it doesn't turn back smoothly, it sorta jerkily does it (fairly cold morning, well, 10 degrees celcius, cold for Australia!), i have a funny feeling that it's the rack saying "I'M DYING I'M DYING"....please tell me there is something to prevent this!!!
Thanks all,
Desperado - Azza
