heater hose replacing 700 1990

Time to replace radiator, heater valve, hoses, etc. But, should I remove the intake manifold before attempting to remove the heater hoses on this 90 740 NA? A quick look tells me I should remove it, but if I can avoid the hassle without spending too much time figuring out how to maneuver in the tangle under the manifold.... Tips from anyone with experience on this model greatly appreciated. The weekend is coming up fast. Regards.
