Hi folks,

I have 2 '58 444s. One has fixed glass panels in the Rear Side Window, the other has the pop-out style, similar to the 122 rear side glass.

I want to swap the pop-outs into my weekend driver and the fixed glass into the project car.

2 questions:

1. Was the pop-out style available on the 444? I thought it was a 544 modification.

'58 being the only year that both the 444 and 544 were produced, I guess, would increase the chances of a Volvo Factory or Dealer Installed Option.

2. Is anyone familiar with this scenario and know what I may face?

The window frame of the 444 that had pop-outs, and that I want to put the fixed glass windows into, has a double "u-shaped" channel, with two upright tabs, like so:

But the seal on the fixed glass out only has one groove, like so:

I had someone else install the pop-outs in the weekend driver, and maybe they used the wrong seal?

I'm confused.
