Been doing a little maintenance on my newly acquired "86" model 245 with a B-230 engine.....Idles slow in the morning.....I cleaned the throttle body.after I found several cracks in the air cleaner duct....Is the ECU supposed to make the Idle valve increase the idle when the coolant cold? Then when the coolant sensor indicates to the ECU that the engine is warm, the ECU takes away the power to the Idle valve? Is the Idle valve either full open or full off or does the ECU vary the opening? I noticed that after the engine is warm I can clamp off the hose to the Idle valve and the engine will slow down.Does this mean it is stuck open and inoperative? I noticed when I took it off to clean it that maybe the valve seemed to rotate in its action. Does it twist or is it like a solonoid valve? Is the Idle valve only for cold operations or does it control the idle all the time?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Thanks in advance for your time....
