GT cluster/small guages don't work 140-160 71

I had put in a new gastank sender b4 I found this nearly mint GT cluster for my '71 142. The gas guage used to work so I know the wire is good and the sender, too. I have heard that there might be a different sender needed for the GT guages.

Same story for the temp guage. I have tried several senders from Volvo and from VDO (0-300F) but no luck. Yet the guage goes to maxx when grounded to the block , I have heard that there might be a different sender needed.
