740GL Auto Tranny OD Solenoid prob 700 1990

I'm about to replace my OD Sol. but it's $250!!!!!!! I know someof you say it might be the relay, it's not cause my light doesn't flicker and I get 12V down below, Some say it's the wireing I don't think it is cause the way the prob is. This is what happens... Car is FINE for the first 5-10 minutes of the drive. Then when it's time for the tranny to shift into OD it goes in and out in and out does that a few times and then it will go in, BUT slight tap of the gas it goes right back out. as the car gets hotter it won't go in at ALL!! Is this a tranny or a OD sol.? Any help is apreciated greatly!!!
