I have a 1990 740GL, 145,000 miles.
The car doesn't start when there is less then a quarter of a tank left. It happend twice, and both times I stopped the car for about 15-20 minutes. When I try to restart it, the engines almost catches on, but does not quite get anough momentum to start. The more I try to restart it, the less the engine catches on.
The first time it happened, I thought that I ran out of gas. Fortunatnely, it happened at a gas station, so I filled it up and it started just fine!
However, I put in only about 10 gal to fill it up, so the tank was nowhere near empty when it refused to start.
The engine runs fine before the problem occurs.
Thanks in advance for your help!
