Starting/Fwy accel. problems 700 1985

I recently took my '85 740 NA on a small trip (around 200 miles round trip) When I got there, I shut off the car... it had been running fine. Then I took a few people to grocery store, and came back, and it was fine. Then when it was time to go to dinner, the car fired, and then died. Then it would just turn over, but not start. I opened the hood and wiggled a few wires, and tried it again, and it started up just fine. Then when I was driving it, it seemed to keep losing power around 3000 rpm. I don't know what the problem is. Any ideas?
