Hey, first let me say you guys are awesome! I feel better going to a mechanic with a little knowledge than walking in and saying, "car not work, make better." here's my brain teaser. '88 Volvo 240 DL Wagon sputters when you press the gas, but will catch up and rev normally if you lay off a little and give it gas gradually. I've checked all the fuses and they are OK. It was near empty and barely running at all when I was trying to get it home. I topped off the tank and then it ran like a champ! does this point to the fuel pump in the tank? Thought this clue might help you (and me) get to the bottom of my problem before i visit the mechanic. Thanks again for the confidence you give the auto-ignorant.
