Dunno if these are related.
I am getting code 2-3-3 from the LH. I think that this is rich or lean at idle (not sure). If any one could clarify, i would be greatful.
The plugs look reasonably good. electrodes do not have much carbon. The base of the plugs do have some significant carbon on the steel part by the threads. It wipes off very easily. don't know if this constitutes carbon fouling?
Anyway the engine seems to be consuming 3/4 of a quart in a month. The turbo is 2 months out of rebuild becuase the seals finally went. It does not smoke at idle or from what I can tell during driving. There is only a light coat of oil in the rubber air hoses before/after the turbo, most of which seems to come from the thing that is not a flame trap, but looks a hell of a lot like one.
One thing that i find odd is that there is oil on all of the spark plug threads, but I keep engine very clean. Plugs seem dry at electrodes, etc. seems to be forced out from the cylenders. normal? This could be paranoia or something cared to inspect previously.
I had the head redone when the turbo was off and old gasket seemed fine. I am pretty confident that there is not a head/head gasket problem- passed leak down and in great shape. I have replaced a few over the years w/o a prob.
It also has a new fuel pressure regulator, intake hoses are not leakey and there are no external leaks.
sorry about writing a book. Just trying to give everyone a pretty consise idea of what has been done.
Any pointers, ideas or experiences would be great.
Thanks in advance.
