Harness help needed! 200 1985

I am hoping to rebuild the engine wiring harness for my B21FT this weekend. I checked the price for a new one, $400+, and decided I can buy a lot of wire for that if the harness is easily rebuilt. My only concern at this point is the connectors for the cold injector and the IAC motor. Is it easy to get the pins out of these connectors to solder new wires onto them. I don't want to have to mess about with the existing harness right now as the more I touch it the more it disintegrates. I tried to find a used harness locally so that I could rebuild it before tearing the car apart but no luck. I have the Volvo wiring diagrams so I know the colors but a heads up on what wires are what guage would really help. Can anyone who has done this rebuild help me out???
