They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, well the road to my financial insolvency is paved with attempts to do my own repairs.

In an attempt to clean the rocker arms and the contact points that control the passenger side window on the driver side power window control panel, I somehow managed to make all the wagon's power window switches become inoperative. Although I was working on the driver side mounting and more specifically the passenger controlling switch I was able to screw them all up.

This is what I did: I popped out the switch (broke it is more like it) to expose the rocker and the little ball inside. I removed them in order to clean them with an eraser head. I put the rocker and ball back in place and turned the car on so I could test the window operation with the switch, before I glue the switch in place. As I tried to put the switch in place I managed to cross the two rockers and I saw some sparks and a tiny bit of smoke. That was that. After I had it back together correctly none of the windows would operate from any of the switches. What did I do?. Is there a central relay that a fried?

Mind you, I was about to leave to NY from VA to pick up my three sons. Needless to say Grandma will have to wait for my arrival a bit since I refuse to go to Brooklyn with all my windows stuck in the open position. Want to know something funny... this really started out as a finding out why the horn is not working eventhough I have voltage at the steering contact points and voltage at the horns and horns that go off if I connect them directly to the battery. All I wanted was one small victory... you can understand right?

Any insight is appreciated... I need something quick because the wife won't let me touch anything electrical until its fixed. She gave me a five min break to use the computer.
