Mystery Oil Leak 200 1983

When I pulled my brick into the driveway this morning and sat through the 1-2m I let the turbo cool down I had figured it would be just another day, turning the old brick off I climbed out of the car and turned around and spotted something I really did not want to see. What *looked* to be four large (Half dollar) sized spots of oil under my baby - two just behind the wheels in the center of the engine, two more along the right flank of the engine running towards the front. So I flicked up the hood and checked the oil (My driveway is level at the top..) oddly enough there seemed to be no change in the oil level at all.

I waited a bit and tested it again, same level of oil. My question is - this would not be a rear seal leak right (Not up to that kind of work.) I mean would it have been a large spot centered between the engine an' tranny I'd suspect that. But if it isn't the rear seal, where the hell was the oil comming from?

One theory could be my leaky water pump seal, which when cold does allow coolant to run back along the engine (hotter temps it burns off.) So maybe that collected the waste oil and carried it backwards while I was driving (There was more oil towards the back of the engine.)

Sound like a suitable idea? Only thing I noticed is a small bead of oil on the drainbolt for the oilpan, it appeared to have rolled down from the side.

Dont want to waste anyones' time, just worried about my brick!
