965 Power Antenna - What the Hell Were They Thinking? 900 92

When I first got my 965 a coupla months ago, I was happy to see that the power antenna didn't extend as far as one would expect, considering its high-mounted location. I figured they must've sensibly limited its travel so it wouldn't bang into everything.

Looks like I was wrong - must've just been stuck!

Tonight I was driving around in the rain, and the water lubed it enough to suddenly achieve full erection (the antenna, that is).

I wish I hadn't discovered this while backing into the garage - now I have to straighten this baby up enough to even retract it fully again.

Aside from maybe crimping or trimming, what do people do to fix this situation?
