I have searched the FAQs for a starting problem I am having with my 89 245 AT and have found two solutions which look promising. 1. Bad fuel injection relay, or 2. Bad RPM sensor.
However, I can't tell from the FAQ's brief description of the starting problems if they are similar to my problem.
My starting problem has occurred after sitting for 10-15 mins. after short drives of 5-10 minutes (car starts OK when cold). The engine turns over, catches and then immediately stumbles and dies. After a few minutes wait it will start. The problem is intermitent and does not occur on every shutoff.
Does this sound like I should be looking at the above two solutions.
BTW, very recent work included new plugs, rotor, cap, fuel filter and O2 sensor. The car has 170,500 kms.
Thanks,
Kevin
