My 88 760 wagon's a/c works great at cold start. When you stop and re-start it, turning on the a/c button, it makes a blowing noise and the compressor seems to be working, but no air comes out the vents. I changed the heater valve a few days ago, but the problem occured last summer a couple of times also. It seems that the passage to the normal vents are not opening. When the car has been sitting and cold. I start, let it idle then hit a/c, it comes on fine. After driving, when I let the turbo idle, I turn off the button before I kill the engine. Returning, moments later I restart, let it run a minute, then hit the button...fan blows, and cold air can be felt at the defroster ducts and under the dash but it seems the regular vents don't open.
