Automatic Overdrive Shift Problem 900 1991

My 1991 940 Turbo some times does not go into overdrive enven though the idicator light is in the off condition. I did have a problem that the shifter button would not engage or disingage the overdrive function and replaced the solenoid (under the radio compartment). This fixed the indicator light comming on erratically. Now, even with the indicator light off, the transmission will no always go into overdrive. After driving for a while at highway speed (10+ minutes) it shifts into OD by itself. Any ideas? Is there a control vacuum or solenoid on the transmission?????
