I'm looking for a way to test the gear selector switch on the AW30-40 tranny in my '92 960. I think there's a "Control function 2" test you can do with the OBD, but I don't have the codes that correspond to each gear position to know if the sensor is sending the right message to the ECU. Even the wire colors (which color wires correspond to which selector position) would be helpful.

Also, I would appreciate any tests the book gives for the tranny temp. sensor and the ECU itself.

My 960 is a '92, but I'm pretty sure diagnostics from any year 960 would be applicable.
