1984 a bad year for Volvo?? 200 84

Wondering if anyone on the BB has had a problematic '84 Volvo?

Out of the three 200 series Volvos that I have owned (they have all been great cars, don't get me wrong) the '84 245 has required the most attention. I don't know if this is due to neglect on the part of the previous owner, or if the guys in the plant put this car together after consuming copious amounts of "spirits"....

Replaced the rack at 156K...radiator at 171K...rear bushings at around 190K...cat. convertor at 212K...original clutch at 220K...main fuel pump at 234K...engine spun a rod bearing at 258K and was swapped out for low-mileage '85 B230F. ECU bought the farm about 3 months later. It took over two weeks to find a good used ECU and I had to drive 60 miles to get it. Fuel pressure regulator @ 278K. Blower motor back in February...

Couple of other things that I can't remember. Have also put two air mass meters in this thing in the 9.5 years that it has been in my possession.

Not bad I guess for a car that has almost 305,000 on it now, but the '86 has been far more reliable (167K, coupla minor problems). My old '82 (can't beat K-jet for reliability and simplicity!) had 240K on the clock when I sold her and my biggest problem with that car was rust.
