Crash Test Results. Why is my car rated so low?! 200 1979

I'm reading through the NHTSA Crash Test Results from CRASHTEST.com.

naturally I looked up my 1979 245 and there it was, a 1, ONE! star rating for both front and side impact crashes! This was the ONLY model to rate so low, Does anyone know why this is? Is it just a matter of the dash design for the front impact to have such bad results? I'm also wondering if it's a matter of the bumper design. Are the doors structured so diferently on a later model? I honestly didn't think there was much body diference from begining to end on the 200 series cars which is why I'm so surprised. If you guys know why I only have a one star rating on my Volvo, please let me know. I've got some frustrating mechanical problems right now but this little tid-bit was downright discouraging!
