turbo blow off valve? 700 1990

Does my car have a blow off valve for the turbo?

it's a '90 b230ft with mitsu turbo.

I can't find anything before the intercooler.

I've been told blow off valves prevent a backsurge when the foot comes off the accellerator. Like shifting from 1st to 2nd under heavy accelleration, for example.

I am heavy footed in the city, do I need a blow off valve, or am I wasting my time?
