To paint/not to paint the exhaust system? ALL

Greetings all!

As I stand here looking at a nice shiny new exhaust system and the rusty old one, I wonder if it is worthwhile painting the new one (with high-temperature paint of course!) to prolong its life before I bolt it in? I know they rust from the inside out as well as from the outside in, but at least the paint would slow down the latter. Any thoughts please? T.I.A.
