hesitation/stumbling??? 200 '88

i've searched the archives for my problem but couldn't finad anything that looked relevant. this morning when i went out to crank my car, it rolled over and started rough. it's never done this before. i let it idle for a bit to warm up and didn't notice anything special. after my son and i got in it to leave, i had noticed the car would have a 'slipping' feel as i drove it. i figured it must be some sort of hesitation and ignored it for a few minutes. after i took him to school, i pulled over and checked the oil and trans oil. all was ok and full. after the car had driven about a total of 5-7miles (what seemed to be enough time for it to warm up, the symptom/problem stopped. could it be that i just ned to give it a good tune up??

situation:

it was about 33degrees last night and this morning

it does need an oil change

shouldn't be the flame trap or anything like that (i clean it EVERY oil change)

i have driven it hard lately, but nothing more than what i've not done on occasion i the past

i did fill up the tank last with 93 premium (prices have gotten REAL CHEAP around here)

thanks in advance for the help and suggestions......Bubba
