I've got quite a few bits and peices I need for old Betty (my 76 volvo), and the other night after browsing through the paper I came up with what I thought was a prity good idea.

There were a few volvo 200's with dead engines in the paper, all around $200 or so (australian $), so I figure what would be handy would be to buy one and strip it down of all the running gear and interior and get the frame hauled away, and then I'm left with a nice collection of spares.

Now I realise that the parts won't be top notch stuff, but for future projects like when I need to do the front brake rebuild, it will make life easier, cause I'll just be able to rebuild the spares and just do swap overs on Betty.

Even down to if I want to put a new set of springs or shocks in, I just rebuild the spare struts and swap over, meaning it will allways leave me with a car on the road.

Betty only cost me $1000 and I've only spend like $500 on her in parts so far, so I figure this is a good way to go for me.

So do you think it's a good idea???

I'm thinking it may save me a chunk of money in the long run.
