Distrubitor stuck in place. 200 1979

my distrubitor is stuck. The car had jumped time. I loosened the clamp down bolt but it won't move a single milimeter. I want to just replace it with the one from my parts car but I can't even remove it. I let it soak with WD40 last night and it's still feeling almost welded in place. Can I give it a good firm rap without disturbing anything? Has anyone else had this problem? This is a 1979 245 I've only had for a few weeks, it obviously hasn't been very well maintained but it does have problems I've never encountered before. I guess this is my school of hard knocks car.

Thanks

Richard
