Bob's radio works fine, but has an "analog" tuner display (which can program three FM and two AM stations) vs. the digital, more programmable tuners of most radios made after 1984.
Not wanting to spend a lot of money on a new radio that may be stolen, I found the much-hated CR-712 on eBay from someone's later 240. I tried installing it in Bob but it wouldn't work. All that happened was the clock displayed, the antenna rose and I could hear the amplifier hiss through the speakers, but I couldn't tune any stations.
Assuming the radio works, is it not compatible with the radio wiring harness for an '84? There are two extra wires and connectors, and a four-wire harness coming out of the CR-712 that Bob's old radio doesn't have. I couldn't find any other connectors in the center console to hook these up to. Is this why the radio doesn't work, or have I been hosed?
