Auto tranny won't shift into fourth/overdrive? 200 92

My tranny (AW71) all of a sudden won't shift into fourth. I tried cleaning the contacts at the fuse box with the glass fuse and no joy. Do I remove the overdrive solenoid at the tranny as the haynes manual says and test. How difficult is this and does anyone no how much this switch costs. Any pitfalls for this procedure. Thanks. I should have the manual by now - another story.
