PBR brake pads 700 1985

Just received a pair if high performance PBR front brake pads. I tried to

install them, but the caliper won't close all the way and hangs up on the

pin fitting. I have bendix calipers.Could they be too thick or am I doing something wrong.I don't want to force them.
