brake pressure bleeding ? motiveproduct 900 1994

Hi all,

new to brickboard!

I am interested in buying the motive power bleeder. Need to do complete R&R on front brakes. I have bleed brakes the old fashioned way. But beore I purchase, I have some questions.

I own a 1994 volvo with ABS

1) The volvo service manual tells you to connect the pressure bleeder and then "push pedal down several times to expel any air bubbles in the master

cylinder"?????. What bubbles in the MC? I don't understand what this does or how it accomplishes it? I did'nt see this in the instructions on their web site on how to use it. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of not pumping the brakes due to the danger of ruining the seals?

2) The volvo manual states "repeat this step between each bleed of each

brake caliper." WHY?

3)The volvo manual says use bleeder which pressurizes the brake system to

29-43 psi.

This unit goes to 30 they stated. Has anybody used a unit like this to

bleed a volvo whose manual states it wants this high pressure?? Will it even work as its at the low end of what volvo calls out for?

And do I need to go that high with my 1994 945 volvo with ABS??
