I need some information. I have a 1992 Volvo 745. The stock radio CR-716 (I believe) and the stock speakers are still intact. I would like to upgrade my speakers. I was told that Alpine is the maker of the speakers and radio. I like my stock radio because of the Anti theft feature. And besides no one wants to steal a stock radio. Anyway, I would like to upgrade my speakers. I bought some Alpine 5 1/4 for the front doors. I saw the wires to connect to the speaker and thought I was all set. Well they don't work. Does anyone know if this stock radio only works with 4 speakers? Could I splice the front dash speakers with the door speakers. How would that sound? Also, does my radio have an amplifer. I was told that some stock radios do. Any information would be helpful to learn more about what I have to work with. By the way, I don't want to spend a lot of money. I would like to stick to a speaker upgrade rather than a new system.
