Well, maybe I shouldn't be using the BB as a soapbox (or whatever), but I just wanted to extend my deepest condolences to any of our bretheren who had family, friends, or other loved ones or acquaintances on AA Flight 587 on Monday. What a horrible tragedy. The timing, the location, the airline... it's all just unbelievable. For what's it's worth, I hold you up in my prayers and thoughts ALL THE TIME these days.
To those of you who are affiliated with American, American Eagle, or other AMR company, keep your head up. This was a ridiculous fluke; you guys have the best air system in the world. AA will be back on top.
To everyone else, I want to stick my neck way out and say please, please don't let these events deter you from flying. Yes, I know the risk factors have been clearly defined and thrown into our faces. But - please excuse this worn-out bit of info - it's still by far the safest way to travel.
Ok, I'm off the soapbox. Thanks for indulging me.
