Put you thinking caps on.
Several years ago I bought a '84 240 with a bad rod. Didn't need it at the
time, but picked it up reasonable. The car ran good enought to load on
trailor.
I recently decieded to get it running and put in a good short block[used the
orginal head, injection, and all wiring]. The car started once, ran a minute
and died. It won't restart. Left it and worked on other projects for a
couple of weeks.
Yesterday got my books out and started detective work.Checked all fuses
inside, changed fuel filter by rear axle, cleaned a electrical termanals
around battery and fuel pump relay.
Started and ran about 30 sec and died, won't resart. Left it for 3
hours, unplugged AMM and the car started and ran several minutes until I
turned it off. Would not restart. Left 3 hours, plugged in AMM and it started
ran 30 sec and died, won't resart. Left 3 hours ,plugged in AMM and once
again started and ran. Left it idel for about 15 minutes, surged as it
ideled. Turned off and would not restart.
I am thinking some thing else beside the AMM is acting up. What are your
ideas?
Thanks
