Thanks for the responses,

The wheel bearings (pinion?) were replaced. As far as the seals goes, I am almost positive that they haven't been replaced. Last time they replaced them I asked the mechanic to pull the differential plug...it was down by maybe an inch so I am game to say it's the pinion seals. She's got 96.5k miles on the clock, is this a typical wear item?

What does the carrier bearing do?

I have a service appointment for Wednesday.
