Heeeeeeeelp !
Car is 1986 740T with B230 engine.
It has a weird problem I'm trying to isolate.
When cold the car starts perfectly, and one can drive
it to the end of the earth, it would not stutter.
However, when restarting warm engine, especially after the car
has been sitting for approx 30 - 40 min, it will have hard time running.
RMP's will jump up and down.
It will die out few times and will eventually come up to par, at which point
car can again be driven for hours without a glitch.
One time it refused to start while warm. It had NO spark to the plugs.
Next morning, all was well again. Problem appears to be electrical.
Hall's sensor, fuel relay, plugs, rotor, ignition wires are all new.
Wiring harness is fine.
I suspect ignition coil, AMM sensor, or a relay in slot "R" of the relay tray
(Ignition advance is its description). What do you think ???
Also, does BOSCH ignition coil have decent counterpart that cost less to buy ?
Thanks a lot for anticipated feed back.
