Just wanted to see if I could find anyone who's done a successful remote door lock/alarm setup on their 700.

Just completed a nightmare job of retrofitting the '89 700 drivers door with a locking selenoid and linkages from an '85 700 passenger door. Volvo seems to have changed the selenoid placement substantially somewhere between 1985 and 1989 (using a more compact locking mechanism and eliminating linkages) however the '85 setup can be made to fit (fortunately the door sheetmetal was not modified over the years).

Questions remaining :

Is the Haynes (covers 82-88) reliable enough for basic alarm wiring hookups (i.e. did the 700 use the same color wiriing codes throughout the production). I need to find the wires for the parking lights, ignition 12v, starter selenoid, etc.

Anyone out there BTDT for a well done alarm setup.
