Well Chuck, if you are sure it is not the crossmember loosening or ball joints or anything brake related, I would think that there would be plenty of good control arms in the junkyard and that would definitely be my solution. They are not too hard to remove and should be very cheap. Pressing my bushings out and the new ones in was a real chore so looseness was not a problem.
