New Motor Mounts 700 1990

A couple of weeks ago I installed new motor mounts (fronts) that I was assured were hydraulic replacements. They looked the same. Before I put them in, I flexed them back and forth by hand, and they seemed to have a little more latteral "float" than I would have expected from solid rubber ones. After installation, the engine sits about 5/8" higher, judging from the fan blade to shroud relationship. It now feels as though I eliminated about 75% of the vibration to the seat of the pants. My wife (primary driver) confirms this. I do, however, still get some vibes which seem to increase when: Car is in reverse with foot on the brake, or; car is drive with foot on the brake and inclined nose-downhill. When driving, both light and hard acceleration are smooth as glass.

I don't read much chit-chat about the rear mount. Is that one to consider changing? How likely is it that the exhaust system (still original at eight years old, 83,000 miles) could be shaking? I'm getting no other indications of a flaky exhaust system - it still "seems" to be pretty solid. Is there anything else that might be setting-up a vibration? Overall, the engine runs real good. Am I just being overly critical?
