Headliner replace? Read this! 700 87

Hey board,

Ok, the headliner board is sitting on my kitchen table. It is 99.99% intact(damage to the front right corner, where the passenger side sunvisor attaches). Here are a couple of observations:

1. All the instructions say to take the headliner out the passenger front door.

There was no way. If I'd continued that approach, I think I would have seriously damaged the board. It just wasnt going out. And I had everything removed from the car.

However, Once I managed to get the rear left corner into the space of the driver side rear door, the headliner went out, with no problem. Out the rear door, driver side!

I was really surprised, because all instructions that Ive read said it should be taken out the front door.

2.There is an adhesive called "tac-it". Its stated use is to bond "headliners, vinyl tops, foam rubber and more". Its stated heat resistance is "up to 200 deg F.

I have not used it, but I attached a piece of foam backed fabric to a piece of card board, and within five minutes it was attached so well that the fabric tore(I pulled on it)but the bond would not come loose.

I intend to use this adhesive, probably sometime tomorrow, or the next day.

All comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Ps Im fortunate that I had removed both seats from the car. I removed them because I wanted to give myself every opportunity to get this right.(I also found all the parts, screws, change and half eaten sandwhiches dropped over the last couple of years).
