John, if you've gathered enough information to see you through your blower modification, I apologize right now for muddying the water.
The blower bushings on my ‘82 240 started squealing at about 130,000 miles and since there is so much work involved in getting at the blower (plus having lived through a blower rebuilt on a 140), I decided to explore the feasibility of adapting sealed ball bearings to the blower.
Lo and behold, by simply removing the inside retaining washer from each end of the motor housing and removing the bushings, a common (I believe 7mm id) bearing fit in place of the bushing as if it was designed for it from the start.
I wish I had kept the part number but a simple measurement of the casing should see you through and, no, I will not rip out the blower to get at the bearing part number.
One qualifier I would have to add is that in my situation, I got to the blower motor before it had burned itself (harness, etc) out. Remember, I had owned a 140.
I incidently have added another 100,000 miles to this 240 in northern Canada where we run our heaters for 8 months of the year.
