Engine dies at all speeds 900 1993

My 1993 940 Wagon has an intermittent stalling problem. When I start the car in the morning it sometimes dies immediately. Much more scary is when it dies on the freeway at 70+ mph! It always restarts after a minute or two. When we bought the car it already had a couple of codes in there, one of which was the MAF Sensor. We have owned the car for a couple of years, sometimes it can go months w/o a problem, sometimes it dies several times on one trip. A year ago I cleaned out the throttle housing and disconnected the battery to clear out all the codes. It worked fine until recently. It appears to be a predominately summer problem. Any ideas?
