Congrats on the tailgate re-wiring, but sorry, there is no intermittent rear wiper on the '85 245 DL. That option was on the GL, even though the DL has the switch and wiring for it. The difference is basically the relay which is in a cavity under the carpet below the brake pedal. There is also a possibilty that the rear wiper motor/gearbox is different, I haven't inspected it. The next time I see a wrecked GL, that's on my parts pulling wish list.
