My wife's '87 240DL w/M47 trans. is getting harder to shift into gears, especially 2nd.The clutch also only needs to be pushed in a little to engage.I tried to check the fluid level(of trans) but couldn't budge the bolt and ran out of time last night. Sprayed it with PB Blaster and WILL get it off this evening. To F*%$#@#* hot to lay in the driveway during the day.
This is the 240 I got for $250. so I knew I would need to spend some dough on it($600 so far on brake, exhaust, suspension, tank, and other misc. parts, out of that only $80 on labor!!)
If the fluid level is low would that cause hard shifting? Or is my clutch on the way out?
