Necessity is the mother of a/c invention ALL ALL

I need to see if someone is crazy enough to try this idea. If not, I might have to just do it myself.

I've noticed lately that in Central Florida's hot (80-90 degrees constantly in the summer) and humid climate that my a/c system just plain sorta sucks. BUT when it starts raining, suddenly the system cools about twice as well (translated - 20 degree reduction in vent temperature). This is very very noticeable. When it isn't raining, I'm on the verge of breaking a sweat, but when it is raining, it cools so well that I need to turn the a/c off sometimes (!).

So, my idea is this: Find a volvo windshield washer motor, tubing, spray nozzle, and water tank at a junkyard or auto parts store. Hook up the motor, tubing, and tank near the front of the engine bay somewhere. Attatch spray nozzle so that when activated it sprays directly at the front of the condenser. Then connect the motor up to electrical circuit which is actuated by a switch in the dash.

It is my theory that this would dramatically improve cooling. I tested this theory by spraying a mist from a hose at my car while it was running the a/c in the driveway. The car cooled much better, even at idle. It also lowered the coolant temp slightly.

Who's game to try this? I might be the only one crazy enough to go for it, but who knows.
