Each section of the shaft should have its two yokes

exactly aligned, whether or not there is a slipjoint.

Also the rubber bearing housing gets soft. If you can't

get a new one you might put a 1/4" rubber strap around the

top half of it which will give you a little more clearance,

Clarence. Bad rear suspension bushings will also

aggravate this problem.
