Jeff,

Please see the windshield replacement article in the VClassics Tech Archive. We've done this on front and rear glass on a number of 122s, but I'm positive the 1800 is just the same -- we've talked several people through this by e-mail, including replacing the chrome trim. You will have a much easier time if you use a fresh gasket.

I don't know what new 1800 glass should cost, but I was surprised at how inexpensive 122 windshields and gaskets are right from Volvo dealerships (they are being newly manufactured by GCP; not usually known for bargain prices). I would hope the 1800 unit is a similar good deal.
