oil & filter recommendations 200 89

I will ask what has undoubtedly been asked scores before. What oil & filter do you folks use on your older bricks? Is Volvo parts the only way to go here?

I have had a very good, authorized Volvo shop change the oil, but I feel competend to do the labor myself, and take it in when other recommended work is needed as well.
