The long awaited 200K badge finally arrived with a bonus in the box
(a 100K badge I did not order but wished I had, thank-you Volvo!!). Problem is..the lead sled is in the garage for repairs.
She entered today for a simple throttle body replace (long story) and as always, other problems were discovered. That's good for my safe driving & well being except...as a non-DYI it cost $$.
The new prob is a "kick down" cable that will not kick down ( maybe that explains the rocketship like revs over the past few days). Having just read the entire FAQ as it relates to Auto Transmissions it sounds as if my mechanic was again being honest with his assessment (thanks guys for the site info that helps to limit the burn somewhat...).
So far..into the sled for cost ($3,400) plus repairs ($1,200) not including this round ($500+). Either way as long as my better half keeps allowing me to use her car to get to work until the sled is stabilized, things should work out (I hope). My plan is to drive this car for at least another 100K to get the 3k badge & the kid halfway thru college.
After driving the wife's Saturn Wagon with zero leg room and seats that do not quite cover my frame, I miss my car big time. As I start to think I made a mistake in buying the sled to begin with, one drive in the munchkin machine & I'm longing for her stalling sputtering turbo self to be back in my hands.
Happy Driving,
Mike
