Re: Removing the gear shift knob on an M46 4spd 200 1979

David was correct. Use a wrench that is slightly larger than the size of the metal shaft. Place it below the knob and with any hammer drive the knob upwards and off the shaft.

Remove the switch and cover for the switch before doing this though.
