Inner Tie-Rod End worn, is it replacable? 240-260 1984

I have a 1984 240DL with at least one of the inner tie rod ends worn (where the tie rod attaches to the steering gear. It has a ZF type steering gear. My question: Can I replace the inner tie rod end, or do I get another steering gear? If the tie rod end can be replaced, does it require special tools? Thanks in advance for any replies!
