Re: K-jet or LH JET or CIS...???? 240-260 1982

ICQ>

From 74-82 all four cylinder Volvo (fuel injected, I am ignoring the B21A and alike) has Bosch K-Jetronic, which is also called CIS. CIS stands for Constant Injection System, because the injectors spray all the time. Because the system is controlled by pressure rather than electric injectors it is considered a mechanical system. The addition of Lamdba controls do not alter this. There is a latter version of K-Jet that uses an electronic pressure regulator which is called CIS-E or KE-Jetronic, but Volvo never used this system.

In mid 82 Volvo switched from K-Jet to LH on non-turbo 240. LH uses a mass air flow sensor (hot wire on the early ones) to sense how much air is going into the engine. K-Jet used a sensor plate which the air flow pushed. LH has injectors that are electronicly controlled. It is considered an electronic system.
